Bellevue Community College Bulldogs update

Earlier this season, we told you that there were four local athletes playing ball this fall at BCC, and we have been so busy with four-year colleges we seem to have forgotten here that they are in action, too.

Well, to them and their parents SnoValleySports apologizes for that very dumb omission on our part, and to make it up to them and you, we offer a short update on their progress and what's ahead for them.

First, with women's soccer, both Mount Si products, Krista Niklason and April Saffell, have found their way onto the stat sheet. Niklason, a converted goalie turned forward, has scored six goals already this season for BCC, who is 7-1-1 as of this writing. Half of those came in one game, September 16 in a win over Green River. She also has three assists. Saffell, too, has found the back of the net once, infact last Saturday in a win over Edmonds. Nice job to both of them.

Volleyball has just started as well, as the team is 2-1 in league play. Sophomore Amanda Frost has 1 ace and 21 digs through the first three matches, while freshman Danielle Rehm has seven digs, 19 kills, 1 assist and 3 aces in the trifecta of contests. Again, nice job!!!
